Police in Naples, Florida, announced that they have not yet found a black bear seen roaming the city center, despite the continued pursuit of wildlife officials.

And the newspaper “Naples Daily News” reported that “several failed attempts were made to ambush the bear in the hope of catching it”, while residents of the area continue to contact the authorities whenever they see the bear in any part of the city in the southwest of the US state.

Local authorities say the bear is not aggressive, but rather avoids contact with humans.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, “the incident is not the first in the city, as it happened before bears no more than 18 months old roamed in populated areas while trying to be independent from their mothers and search for a new home.”
