A British man burns down his neighbor’s house, killing her and her two children

British Jamie Barrow, 31, was arrested in court on charges of killing his neighbor and her two children after arson on the family home in Fersel, Close, Nottingham, in the early hours of Sunday. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court next Monday after being charged with three counts of murder.

Neighbor Fatumata Hydra (28 years), a mother of two girls, died two days after the fire broke out, which claimed the lives of the infant Naima Drama (1 year old), and her sister Fatima Drama (3 years).

Investigations indicated that the afflicted family died as a result of smoke inhalation caused by the fire that occurred in their apartment located on the ground floor at three in the morning.

“The situation this family has endured is incomprehensible,” said Deputy Chief Constable of Nottinghamshire, Rob Griffin. “We will do everything we can to bring them justice.”

Ambulances rushed the two children to a medical center after the fire, but they died.

Their mother was placed on life support but also passed away last Tuesday. Fatumata’s husband, Abu Bakr Drameh, 40, said he was deeply saddened by the death of his “beautiful wife” and two children.

“His wife lived a short but beautiful life,” he added. “Fatumata was a former volunteer. She was very happy and her kind heart wouldn’t make her hurt a fly.” The father added sadly, “I no longer have children and I miss my family very much.”
