Dear Gridlock Sam,
Is it permitted to park a boat on a trailer on a city street?
Only if it’s attached to a tow vehicle. Violation code 66 prohibits “parking a trailer or semi-trailer which is not attached to a motor vehicle used for towing it, unless loading or unloading at an off-street platform.” Exceptions are where permitted by posted signs in industrial zones.
If you need to store a boat, there are marinas that provide such a service in all five boroughs. Check the facilities tab on the Parks Dept. website for details; numerous insurance and documentation requirements apply.
