In Nevinnomyssk (Stavropol Territory), a court sentenced a group of “healers” who were deceiving the elderly. This is reported by the regional prosecutor’s office.
It was established that from April to September 2019, three local residents stole 2.5 million rubles from pensioners. They convinced their victims of the curses, damage or existing diseases imposed on those curses, after which they reported that it was possible to get rid of ailments by conspiring money and jewelry, writes NewsTracker.
The women were found guilty of 11 counts of crimes under the CC. 2, 3 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy.”
The court sentenced them to imprisonment for a term of four to five years in a general regime colony. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
At the end of March, it was reported that a 30-year-old Astrakhan resident was awaiting trial in Sevastopol on charges of large-scale fraud. Its victims were people wishing to get a job in the crews of foreign ships.
