Palmeiras ended its preparation for the Paulista Championship final with training at the Football Academy on Saturday afternoon. Coach Abel Ferreira separated the probable starting team and the athletes trained penalties in the last rehearsal for the decision against São Paulo.
After the warm-up, the commission led by the Portuguese coach separated two teams, one of which should start the classic. The athletes improved their positioning, movements, verticalization, transitions and specific moves, among other aspects.
In the sequence, the players participated in a recreational and, finally, perfected free kicks and penalties. As there was a goalless draw at Allianz Parque, the winner of the second final guarantees the title and new equality takes the decision to penalties.
After completing a period of physical reconditioning, defender Alan Empereur participated in the training again full time with his teammates and may be new among those listed. The young Renan, however, must continue as a starter in the defensive line.
Benjamin Kuscevic, Breno Lopes and Gabriel Veron worked inside the center of excellence and also on the lawn of the Academy. Marcos Rocha, in turn, continued the treatment of his left thigh injury with the Health and Performance Center.
Palmeiras should face São Paulo with Weverton; Luan, Gustavo Gomez and Renan; Mayke, Felipe Melo, Patrick de Paula, Raphael Veiga and Victor Luis; Ron and Luiz Adriano. The decisive classic is scheduled for 4 pm (Brasília time) this Sunday, at Morumbi Stadium.
