In 2021, 1.4 billion rubles will be allocated for measures to improve the Volga River within the borders of Tatarstan. This was announced by the Republican Minister of Ecology Alexander Shadrikov.
According to him, in 2019-2020, within the framework of the federal program, 2.6 billion rubles were allocated for these purposes, for which 11 treatment facilities were built. And this year, two treatment facilities are to be commissioned, in the Pestrechinsky district and at the Kazan water canal. Three years are given for the program of reconstruction and construction of treatment facilities, quotes the minister of IA “Tatar-inform”.
According to Shadrikov’s data, the Kazan water utility provides 42% of all discharges into the Volga. However, the minister said, the republic’s global task is to deal not only with the Volga, but also with all small rivers and water bodies on its territory. The area of water bodies in Tatarstan is 64% of the total territory of the republic.
At the end of April, it was reported about the start of a large-scale reconstruction of biological treatment facilities in Kazan. In three years, Vodokanal’s effluents to the Volga will have to meet modern requirements and indicators.
