Afghanistan said the Taliban maintain contacts with IS and Al-Qaeda

The radical Taliban movement that has seized power in Afghanistan (banned in the Russian Federation) maintains close contacts with the Islamic State (IS) and Al-Qaeda terrorist groups (both banned in the Russian Federation). This was announced on Wednesday in an interview with the correspondent. TASS head of the foreign relations department of the Afghan National Resistance Front opposing the Taliban Ali Maysam Nazari.

“The Taliban’s contacts with international terrorism remain inextricable. The Taliban are simply not able to sever these ties, because thanks to them, terrorists have the opportunity to acquire legitimacy. All expectations that the Taliban will separate from extremist groups are absolutely unfounded,” he said.

By the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of February 14, 2003, the Taliban movement was recognized as a terrorist organization. His activities in Russia are prohibited.

By the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of December 29, 2014, the Islamic State group (until 2014 – the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, ISIS) was recognized as a terrorist organization. Its activities are prohibited in Russia.

By the decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation of February 14, 2003, Al-Qaeda was recognized as a terrorist organization. Its activities are prohibited in Russia.
