The request filed by the president of Covid’s CPI, senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), this Wednesday (2), for Gol, Latam and Azul to provide records of flights from São Paulo to Brasília carried out by medical doctor Nise Yamaguchi it may face resistance among airlines because passenger information is confidential but can be opened at the official request of the relevant authorities, according to industry executives.
Sought by the column, Azul and Latam said that, if they are called, they will collaborate. Gol did not respond to Panel SA’s question whether it would deliver the information, it only stated that it was not notified.
The senator’s request covers the records of trips to Brasília made also by Greici Yamaguchi and Charles Takahito, Nise’s brothers. In the application, which has not yet been considered, the senator requests information about flights made between March 2020 and May 2021.
He justifies the request saying that the records can help clarify the doctor’s participation in meetings with federal government representatives accompanied by her brothers.
