Albania’s parliament impeached the country’s president

The Albanian parliament on Wednesday announced an impeachment to President Ilir Mete for violating the Constitution and removed him from his post, the Associated Press reports, Trend reports citing Interfax.

104 MPs voted for impeachment, while only seven voted against. Three more abstained.

Now, within three months, the decision to remove him from office must be approved by the Constitutional Court of Albania.
