An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 occurred on Sunday in the Pacific Ocean in the Kermadec archipelago, which is part of New Zealand. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, Trend reports with reference to TASS.
According to him, the epicenter was 737 km south of the city of Nuku’alofa (the capital of the Kingdom of Tonga) with a population of 2.4 thousand people. The source of the earthquake lay at a depth of 30 km.
There were no reports of a tsunami threat.
