Banks in Cuba will stop accepting cash dollars from the second half of June

Cuban banks from June 21 will stop accepting cash dollars for crediting to customer accounts. The corresponding statement of the Central Bank of Cuba was presented on the air of the republic’s state television, Trend reports with reference to TASS.

“Given the obstacles posed by the economic blockade by the United States, <...> it was decided to temporarily stop accepting banknotes of this country by the Cuban banking and financial system, – said in a statement. “From June 21, 2021, Cuban banking and financial institutions will temporarily stop accepting US cash deposits.”
