Belgium, the Netherlands and England win in friendly preparations for the European Cup


Belgium crowned its preparations to participate in the European Cup 2020, which begins next Friday, with a friendly victory over Croatia 1-0, on Sunday, while the Netherlands defeated Georgia 3-0, and England defeated Romania 1-0.

Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku scored the winning goal for Belgium in the 38th minute, after Lyon player Jason Dinaier headed a ball into the penalty area, and hit it directly into the net.

In another friendly match, the Dutch national team defeated its Georgian counterpart by 3-0, alternating between scoring by Memphis Depay (from a penalty kick), Fot Weghorst, and Ryan Gravenberg, in the 10th, 55th and 76th minutes, respectively.

For his part, England won a difficult victory over Romania, with a Marcus Rashford goal from the penalty spot, in the 68th minute.

Belgium, the world’s top ranked team, fell in the Euro 2020 championship, in an acceptable group, which includes Russia, Denmark and starters Finland, while the draw put the Netherlands in an easy group that includes Austria, Ukraine and North Macedonia, while England will play Croatia, Scotland, and the Czech Republic.

The Euro 2020 finals will be held between June 11 and July 11 in 11 European cities for the first time in the history of the competition to celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of its launch, namely: Amsterdam, Baku, Seville, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome, and Saint Petersburg.
