Fox News contributor Miranda Devine says the border crisis in Del Rio, Texas is now a “humanitarian catastrophe” and President Joe Biden has “ignored it”.
“We have to be honest the border is wide open and that is by design,” she told Fox News.
“Joe Biden came in on the very first day of his presidency unwound all those Trump era protections and then since then he started this fire.
“He pretended it isn’t happening, he’s ignored it. He’s hoping the media ignores it.
“Unfortunately with this disaster under the bridge in Del Rio you’ve got 15,000 mostly Haitian immigrants who are living in squalor conditions, not enough food, not enough water. A humanitarian catastrophe.”
Over 12,000 mostly Haitian migrants have illegally crossed the border from Mexico to Del Rio in Texas in the hope of being processed into the country.
Videos show migrants easily walking across the river dam before setting up camp under the International Bridge.
They can be seen making make-shift homes using sticks and living in complete squalor – now with limited access to food and water.
President Joe Biden and his VP Kamala Harris have been criticised over the weekend for not addressing the issue.
Mr Biden spent the weekend bike riding in Delaware and Ms Harris was seen doing the coin toss for her alma mater at the Howard/Hampton football game.
Another crisis unfolding at the border is the fact none of the migrants have been asked to test for COVID-19 or show proof for vaccination.
