China has launched its first manned spacecraft, Shenzhou-12, to the Tiangong orbital station under construction. The broadcast is conducted by CGTN, Trend reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
The three cosmonauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo are on board. The launch took place on schedule, at 04.22 Moscow time, from the site on the border of Gansu province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region. To launch the spacecraft into orbit, the Long March-2F Y12 launch vehicle is used.
The astronauts will travel to the Tianhe base module in orbit to begin construction and expansion of a new orbital station.
