The request filed by senator Alessandro Vieira (Citizenship-SE) on Tuesday (8) for chloroquine and ivermectin manufacturers to reveal the billing to Covid’s CPI caused little enthusiasm among specialists in the pharmaceutical market, because it is nothing new that the sale soared in the pandemic. The provocation that circulates in the middle is that the numbers will reiterate another truism: that it is necessary to increase the inspection on the sale of red stripe medicine without a medical prescription.
The requests, which have not yet been considered, cover pharmaceutical companies Apsen, Cristália, EMS, Germed, Merck, Sanofi and Vitamedic. In the applications, the congressman requests the quantity sold in 2019, 2020 and 2021, in addition to the name and CNPJ of the main buyers since last year, and the amounts paid.
Vieira also states in the requirements that the marketing of products grew by more than 500% in the pandemic. “Understanding this increase, as well as the profile of its main distributors, is relevant for tracing the capillarity and dimension of the use of these drugs in the country”, says the senator.
