Doctor advises obese people to limit their diet to olive oil

Overweight people need to carefully monitor their diet. Even healthy foods can be harmful in some cases.

Gastroenterologist Alexander Mamonov said that people diagnosed with obesity, as well as with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, need to limit the consumption of olive oil.

The expert noted that high-quality olive oil is useful, but quite high in calories – about 900 kcal per 100 g. Therefore, you should not abuse it.

It is no secret that those who monitor weight and overall health often choose olive oil, but it is important to remember that its calorie content should also be taken into account in salads, pastries and other dishes. It may well replace other foods containing saturated fats, but remember that everything is fine in moderation.

The physician noted: olive oil, when used correctly, can have a beneficial effect on the work of the cardiovascular system, reduce the level of “bad” cholesterol, and saturate the body with healthy Omega-9 fatty acids, writes the Moscow City News Agency.
