The Railways Authority in Egypt announced in a statement issued today, Tuesday, that a passenger train, Muharram Bey / El Dabaa Bloder, without numbers, from a place not designated for crossing, collided with 115 km between El Alamein / Sidi Abdel Rahman.
The authority stated that while the Muharram Bey El-Dabaa passenger train was running at kilo 155,800 between El Alamein / Sidi Abdel Rahman, the Qabbary line / Marsa Matrouh, the train driver noticed crossing the railway loader and came from a place not designated for crossing. The train collided with it, causing the tractor and all the wagons and all their wheels to fall off the rails and possibly the death of the loader driver.
She explained that follow-up is underway and that there are no injuries among the train passengers, and the Railway Authority called on vehicle and car drivers to abide by the passage and transit from the designated crossing places in order to avoid such accidents.
