Egyptian authorities to lift restrictions on restaurants and shops

The Egyptian authorities are lifting the restrictions on the operation of restaurants, cafes, shopping centers and shops, introduced in early May as part of the fight against coronavirus. This decision was made on Sunday at a meeting of the High Commission on Combating COVID-19. From June 1, shops and shopping centers will be open until 23.00, and cafes and restaurants will receive visitors until 01.00. Previously, their opening hours were reduced.

Health Minister Hala Zayd also commented on the progress of the coronavirus vaccination campaign, writes RIA Novosti. According to her, in the tourist provinces of the Red Sea and South Sinai, all hotel employees have already been vaccinated, and the vaccination of the rest of the tourism sector workers is coming to an end. The authorities also ordered to complete the vaccination of residents of the resort towns of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh as soon as possible.

Earlier, the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that the resumption of charter flights to the resorts of Egypt will take place in the near future. The exact dates have not yet been announced.
