Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, who became a great-grandmother for the 11th time, congratulated her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle on the birth of their daughter Lilibet Diana. The heir to the throne, Prince of Wales Charles and his wife, Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, as well as Harry’s brother, Duke of Cambridge, William and his wife, Kate Middleton, also joined the congratulations, Trend reports referring to TASS.
“The Queen, Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, as well as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed about the birth of the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and are very happy about it,” the message says.
Prince Harry and Markle have already received many congratulations from various politicians, actors and public figures from around the world, including from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson and the leader of the opposition British Labor Party, Cyrus Starmer.
The fact that Lilibet Diana was born on June 4, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced on Sunday. The girl, whose birth weight was 3.5 kg, took eighth place in the line of succession to the throne. She was named after Elizabeth II, who in a narrow family circle is called Lilibet, and also Princess Diana (1961-1997) – the mother of Princes Harry and William.
