EU extends sanctions against Iran for human rights violations

The EU extended sanctions against Iran for a year over human rights violations in that country, adding eight more people and three organizations to the blacklist. This is stated in the statement of the EU Council, circulated on Monday in Brussels.

“The Council today decided to extend its restrictive measures in response to serious human rights violations in Iran until April 13, 2022.
