Federer and Nadal, representing the European national team, lost to the Americans Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock with a score of 6:4, 6:7 (2:7), 9:11. The fight took place in London.
The match was the last in the career of the Swiss. Federer is a six-time winner of the ATP Finals in singles, the Davis Cup winner (2014) as part of the Swiss national team, and the 2008 Olympic champion in men’s doubles. He has won 111 ATP tournaments (103 in singles). On September 15, Federer announced on his social media that he would retire after the Laver Cup.
