Russian figure skater Maya Khromykh won the Warsaw Cup Challenger tournament. The competition took place on Saturday 20 November.
According to the sum of the two programs, the athlete scored 194.02 (69.24 + 124.78) points, while in the free program a 15-year-old Russian woman performed a quadruple sheepskin coat with a mistake, fell from a second similar element and a triple rittberger, writes Sport-Express …
The second place was taken by the representative of Estonia Nina Petrokina (64.92 + 123.94; 188.86), the third – the figure skater from Poland Ekaterina Kurakova (63.03 + 124.78; 187.80).
Khromykh is the silver medalist of the Italian Grand Prix (2021) and the Russian Cup final (2021). She trains at the headquarters of Eteri Tutberidze.
Earlier that day, two more pupils of Tutberidze – Anna Shcherbakova and Alena Kostornaya – took first and second places, respectively, at the stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating in France.
Shcherbakova scored 229.69 points in the sum of the short and free programs. Kostornaya received 221.85 points. The third place was taken by the Japanese woman Wakaba Higuchi, who earned 204.91 points.
