The person may deny it, it is a candidacy that smacks of temperature taking for the next presidential election. Florian Philippot has finally decided to go back to campaign for the regional elections on June 20 and 27. “There was a strong demand for a speech and proposals totally different from the other lists”, justifies the leader of the Les Patriotes movement.
Eternal herald of a “Frexit” – France’s exit from the European Union – it is above all its anti-containment, anti-mask, anti-health pass and vaccine-skeptic positions that have enabled the former vice-president of the National Front to to be located in recent months at the crossroads of antisystems of all kinds. Against the backdrop of the health crisis, the movement has grown from 2,000 members in January 2020, to more than 20,000 claimed last May. This new mobilization capacity had to be tested at the ballot box.
