Over the weekend, telephone scammers stole the savings of two residents of Ryazan for almost half a million rubles. The regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs about it.
Victims describe similar situations. They were called by strangers and introduced themselves as bank security officers. The callers reported that someone was attacking the bank accounts of Ryazan residents. So, having frightened the victims, the attackers, in order to “secure” the funds, asked to provide information about the card and follow their instructions. Residents of Ryazan, having fulfilled the instructions of the scammers, themselves provided the scammers with access to their accounts.
Thus, 182 thousand rubles were lost from the account of the 45-year-old security guard, and 300 thousand rubles were stolen from the bank card of the 33-year-old worker.
A criminal case was initiated. Malefactors face up to 6 years in prison.
Recall that Ryazan residents began to warn about fraudsters in minibuses and trolleybuses.
