Former aide to Major Olímpio takes first steps after being left with 75% lung compromised by Covid – 07/04/2021 – Panel
Diego Freire, former parliamentary aide to Senator Major Olímpio, took his first steps this Wednesday (7) as part of his treatment after being infected by Covid-19.
He was admitted in the same week as the congressman, in the first days of March, and was left with 75% of his lung compromised. He was intubated for about three weeks.
This Wednesday (7), Diego walked with the help of a physiotherapist in a hospital in Brasilia.
On Tuesday (6), he posted a message on social media in honor of the senator, who died from Covid-19 on March 19.
“I lost a good friend and the world a great man. Rest in peace; your memory will be eternal, my friend. May your hearty laugh be inspiring in the sad days here on Earth. I feel it was a great privilege to have known you and to have lived together with you, and comfort all the memories I keep of you. I will always remember and miss you.
