BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15Trend: The French newspaper published an article entitled “Roads to Karabakh”.

The article reports that during the 44-day World War II, the Azerbaijani army liberated Karabakh and adjacent regions from the Armenian occupation, Trend reports on Thursday. The main task facing Azerbaijan, which has ensured its territorial integrity, is the restoration and revival of the liberated lands. A number of important projects have already been launched in this direction, and the creation of road infrastructure is among the top priorities.

During each visit of the President of Azerbaijan to the liberated territories, the foundation of a strategically important road or airport is laid. For example, on January 14 this year, President Ilham Aliyev, as part of a trip to the liberated Fizuli region, laid the foundations of the Fizuli-Shusha road on the 27th kilometer of the Ahmadbeyli-Fizuli-Shusha road, as well as an airport in Fizuli district.

The recently developed project of the Fizuli-Shusha road includes the construction of bridges and tunnels, that is, instead of bypass roads in areas with difficult terrain, the use of bridges and tunnels is envisaged. The new route will be connected with the Fizuli airport, from which it is planned to lay a new road to Isa Bulagy.

Fizuli airport with a runway length of 2,800 meters will be equipped with infrastructure that meets international standards. All conditions will be created here for the reception and dispatch of aircraft, the convenience of passengers.

The article also tells about the Horadiz-Agbend railway, the foundation of which was laid by President Ilham Aliyev on February 14. It is emphasized that the strategic importance of this 100-kilometer-long railway line is extremely high, since this transport infrastructure will play an important role in ensuring the travel of Azerbaijani citizens to the liberated lands, and most importantly, will make a great contribution to the creation of a direct rail link between the main part of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. …

It is also reported that on March 15, President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the Fizuli-Hadrut highway. This route starts from the Victory Road and connects with the planned new highway Hadrut – Jebrail – Shukurbeyli. The road will be 13 kilometers long and will have four lanes and road bridges will be built on it.

It is emphasized that the Gadrut – Jebrail – Shukurbeyli road, which starts from the Hadrut settlement and passes through the Jebrail region, connects in the Shukurbeyli village with the Hajigabul – Minjivan – Zangezur corridor road. Its length is 43 kilometers, and road bridges will also be built on this four-lane road.

The article also provides information about the Zangilan airport, the Zangilan – Horadiz and Barda – Aghdam highways. It is reported that these projects are part of large-scale work on the reconstruction of road infrastructure in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan on behalf of the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
