The Government of the Federal District (GDF) will make a campaign to vaccinate against covid-19 as of this Friday (23). There will be around 100 posts available for the application of the vaccine throughout the federal capital on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The goal is to speed up the immunization process in the DF. The target audience is people aged 37 or over.
The measure was announced this Wednesday (21st) afternoon, during a Health press conference, at the Buriti Palace. The current 54 vaccination points made available by the Health Department will practically double, as recalled by the Chief of Staff, Gustavo Rocha. It will not be necessary to book in advance via the internet.
“These posts will be divided between those who will apply the first dose and those who will give the second,” explained Rocha. “In addition, the Military Police and health agents will monitor the vaccination points. The objective is to inform the population of how many doses are available at that point and whether they will actually have the vaccine when the person’s turn comes,” he added. Opening hours and locations will be announced
The advance in immunization is possible with the arrival of about 87 thousand doses of vaccines, delivered by the Ministry of Health. The opening hours and the list of posts that will integrate the joint effort will be released on Thursday (22) by the Health Department.
“We hope that the vaccination takes place as efficiently and as smoothly as possible. The objective is to reduce and organize the queues in the best way possible and avoid crowding”, said the head of the Civil House.
At the press conference, it was also informed that there are about 180,000 people to be immunized with the second dose by the end of July. According to the Health Secretary, Osnei Okumoto, 170 thousand vaccines are in the Cold Health Network and the rest will come in the next shipments sent by the Ministry. “We insist here that it is essential to do the second dose correctly, as this is the only way to complete the immunization cycle”, concluded the secretary.
