Health distributes 2.3 million doses of Pfizer vaccine | Brasilia Web

The Ministry of Health begins today (7) to distribute a new batch of 2.3 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine against covid-19 to states and municipalities. Even today, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Mato Grosso do Sul, Amazonas and the Federal District will receive their shares in the division.

The other states should receive their shipments until next Wednesday (9). Vaccines are intended for the immunization of priority audiences who are receiving applications according to the operational plan: people with comorbidities, pregnant and postpartum women with comorbidities, people with permanent disabilities and basic education workers.

The Ministry of Health added that states and municipalities will also be able to direct the doses to other segments, such as workers at airports and ports, part of the security and rescue forces and the Armed Forces.

According to the Ministry of Health’s planning, more than 12 million doses of Pfizer’s vaccine should be delivered in June. For the period from July to September, another 84.4 million doses are planned.

The Ministry has distributed 102.9 million doses so far. Of this total, 71.6 million doses were applied, 48.8 million from the 1st dose and 22.8 million from the 2nd dose. Considering the population, just over 10% of the population have been completely immunized (1st and 2nd doses) so far.
