Hero of Santos, Marcos Leonardo celebrates: “Inexplicable sensation”

Marcos Leonardo was the highlight of Santos’ victory by 2-0 over Fortaleza this Thursday night, in Vila Belmiro, for the 35th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The center forward came at half-time after more than two months and scored both goals: one with a penalty and the other with a beautiful finish from outside the area.

“It’s an inexplicable, very good feeling, of being able to score, relief for the fans, for our group. I didn’t even want to be at that moment (of risk), but we did it, we’ll take it off. We’ve worked hard for that. Now, a lot of relief. Honestly, when the ball hit there, butterflies in my stomach, but thank God the ball went in. God gave the gift, thank Him, fatigue and everyone for having the confidence to hit. Let’s work moment to moment moment, step by step. Each game will be a final,” Marcos Leonardo told the Premiere.

With the victory, Santos goes to 11th place, with 45 points, and is very close to getting rid of relegation to Serie B. Peixe works with the need to add, at most, 47 to breathe a sigh of relief.

In the next round, Peixe visits Internacional on Sunday, in Beira-Rio, to mathematically end the risk of falling.
