Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – A spokesman for the international coalition led by the United States against ISIS confirmed that the American forces in Syria were subjected to multiple missile attacks, denying the presence of casualties.
“At approximately 7:44 pm local time, US forces in Syria were subjected to multiple missile attacks. No casualties and damage assessments,” Colonel Wayne Marato said in a tweet on Monday.
“We will provide updates when we have more information,” the spokesperson added.
A military base housing US forces in the Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor countryside (eastern Syria) was hit by a missile attack, Monday evening, according to the Syrian News Agency (SANA).
The bombing comes hours after “Hezbollah Brigades” vowed to respond to the killing of 4 of its fighters following US raids on facilities on the Iraqi-Syrian border. The US Department of Defense said that “militias are using them in drone attacks against American personnel and facilities.”
