The Moscow Department of Education and Science announced the start of the V Annual International Festival of the Russian Language. This educational and creative platform for foreign students, allowing them to improve their knowledge and show their talents in creative tests. “We see it as our task in the development of international cooperation to promote the Russian language, preserve and develop it for those who love and want to know and study the Russian language. And we provide this opportunity to participants from more than 40 countries, ”said Marianna Lebedeva, director of the Moscow Center for the Quality of Education (MCCE).
The interest in the festival is growing rapidly – in 2020, information technologies have more than doubled the number of participants to 2000 people. According to the MCCO, about 5,000 schoolchildren will take part in the festival this year.
The correspondence tour will run from February to June, the final one from September to October. Both stages will be held remotely. The format of the final event, scheduled for November-December, will depend on the restrictions that will apply at that time.
Students of grades 7-12 in the categories “Russian as a foreign language” and “Russian as a foreign language” can take part in the festival. The nominations of the festival this year will not change: “Experts of the Russian language, history and culture of Russia”, “Theatrical creativity”, “Contemporary arts and crafts and visual arts”, “Children’s and youth cinema and television”, “Choreographic creativity”, ” Vocal and choral creativity “and” Artistic word “. An application for participation can be submitted on the MCCO website until April 20.
