IS leader was a US informant

“WP” – the leader of “IS” (ISIS, banned on the territory of the Russian Federation) Said Rahman al-Mawla was previously an informer for the United States.

The publication reports this with reference to the declassified interrogation protocols of al-Mawl, when he was imprisoned by the US military in Iraq in 2007-2008. According to the Washington Post, Al-Mawla helped the US military to compile composite images of terrorist suspects. He also named restaurants where IS members gathered. During one of the interrogations, al-Mawla revealed the phone numbers of 19 terrorists and told how much money they make. The exact date of Al-Mawl’s release is unknown.
