King Salman to Abbas: We wish the Palestinians security and peace – Saudi Arabia News

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz affirmed the kingdom’s condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli attacks and actions in the city of Jerusalem, the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and the resulting fall of the innocent and injured victims.

Yesterday, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed in a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that the Kingdom will continue its efforts at all levels to stop the Israeli measures and attacks on Jerusalem, by communicating with the active parties to exert pressure on the Israeli occupation government, wishing the Palestinian people security and peace.

The Palestinian President expressed his deep appreciation for the Kingdom’s stances since the era of King Abdulaziz – may God have mercy on him – until today, expressing his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to the Kingdom’s government for its efforts in international, Islamic and Arab organizations to stop the Israeli aggression and support the Palestinian people.

Saudi Arabia welcomed the declaration of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, appreciating the Egyptian efforts and the efforts of other international parties in this regard. She expressed her aspiration for concerted efforts to find a just settlement to the Palestinian issue and to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international legitimacy decisions and the Arab Peace Initiative. The Kingdom reiterated its affirmation of continuing its efforts, in cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries, to reach the achievement of that settlement.

A ceasefire agreement reached with the mediation of Egypt, Israel and the Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, entered into force at two o’clock Friday morning, after 11 days of the heaviest military escalation between them since 2014 and caused a large number of deaths, the majority of them Palestinians.
