Magnitude 5.0 earthquake hits Japan coast

Seismologists recorded a 5.0 magnitude earthquake off the coast of the Japanese island of Honshu on Wednesday. This was announced by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, Trend reports with reference to TASS.

According to him, the epicenter of the tremors was 78 km southeast of the city of Hachinohe, which is home to about 239 thousand people. The focus was located at a depth of 50 km.

No tsunami threat was reported.
