Matheus Almeida was the fifth eliminated in the third season of Mestre do Sabor. Despite having been praised, he had his dish chosen as the worst in the competition that was worth staying on Globo’s culinary reality show.
The 31-year-old from Bahia was part of chef Kátia Barbosa’s team. He had been selected for the attraction after attracting attention with an aratu skillet.
In the first part of the program this Thursday (10), the participants competed in the Menu Confiança test. The teams had to prepare a complete menu in 60 minutes (starter, main course and dessert) using the egg as the protagonist.
At this stage, the menu “O Mundo É um Ovo”, by Leo Paixão’s team, was chosen as the best. Among the dishes was a squid carbonara with yolk crumbs.
In turn, Rafa Costa and Sila and Kátia Barbosa had to save one person from their respective teams. Everyone else would participate in the second challenge of the night.
Ju Lima (team Rafa) and Bia Pimentel (team Kátia) were saved. Besides them, Carol Francelino was immune for having won last week’s individual competition.
As a result, the Battle of the Cucas began. In this competition, disputed individually, the participants needed to prepare a dish using seafood in 60 minutes.
In the blind tasting, the masters praised all the dishes and stated that they needed to go into detail to decide the worst dish. The choice was the puree of two pumpkins, mushrooms, pistachios and crispy shrimp by Matheus Almeida.
On the other hand, the best dish was Rodrigo Guimarães. It was miso-marinated salmon, smoked chickpea puree, and cashew nut vinaigrette. He’s immune next week.
