More than half of US residents support the decision of the Facebook administration to block the account of former US President Donald Trump. This is evidenced by a poll published on Monday by the Politiko newspaper in cooperation with Morning Consult.
According to him, in general, 51% of Americans fully or partially supported the blocking of Trump on the social network, 40% of respondents opposed such measures.
It is noted that the results of the survey varied depending on which party the participants are supporters of. Among the Republicans, only 15% of respondents supported the decision to block it, 77% were against it. Among Democrats, 86% agreed with the decision of the Facebook management, 8% opposed.
Among citizens who are not supporters of any party, 46% were in favor of blocking Trump’s account, 40% of respondents expressed disagreement with the decision of Facebook.
The survey was conducted from 4 to 7 June 2021 among 1990 respondents. The error does not exceed 2%.
After the riots in Washington on January 6, Facebook company denied Trump the opportunity to post on his social networks. Initially, the lockdown was supposed to last until Trump’s term expired at noon on January 20, but was subsequently extended.
