The so-called ‘motociata’ with President Jair Bolsonaro should affect the traffic of streets and avenues in the city of São Paulo in the late morning and early afternoon of this Saturday (12), in addition to one of the main highways in the state, which connects the capital to Campinas.
Leaving Santana, in the northern part of the city, you should take the Tietê road, from the Governador Orestes Quércia Bridge, and continue until kilometer 62 of the Bandeirantes highway.
On the way back, the route will pass along the Pinheiros waterfront, continuing on to the Engenheiro Ari Torres bridge and, from there, on to Avenida dos Bandeirantes and Avenida Rubem Berta, ending at the Ibirapuera obelisk.
In a statement, the Secretariat of Public Security of São Paulo stated that there will be an effective of over 6,300 police officers on duty. Policing will be reinforced throughout the capital, in the metropolitan region and on the Bandeirantes highway. Also the points of concentration and dispersion of the act will have expanded patrolling.
To do so, the police say they will have different battalions, with around 2,100 vehicles, five aircraft and ten drones. The operation will also have the support of the Metropolitan Civil Guard and the Traffic Engineering Company (CET) and AutoBAn.

The greater forecast of participants and the safety requirements of the president made the organizers of the “motociata” change the planning of the event.
It will now end at the Ibirapuera obelisk, an open area, and no longer on Avenida Paulista, which is considered very narrow, as originally planned. The start will be at 10 am at the intersection of Braz Leme and Santos Dumont avenues, in the Santana neighborhood.
“We will have a concentration of participants at dawn, of people who want to be closer to the president”, said Jackson Vilar, one of the organizers of the event, which was baptized “Acelera Para Cristo” and will have a religious act at the end.
There are already almost 400,000 registered people interested in participating in the event, says Vilar, a trader in the Capão Redondo region, in the south of São Paulo. “There are people coming from several states and from the interior of São Paulo, hundreds of motorcycle clubs that have come into contact”, he says.
Even if only a fraction of this number actually attends, the expectation is that it will be a bigger event than similar motorcycles that took place last month in Brasília and Rio de Janeiro.
This Thursday (10), the organizers had a meeting with the Military Police to set details of the route and security conditions. Before, they had also talked to Army representatives in the city.
The motorcycle’s exact itinerary is not being disclosed for safety reasons, but the forecast is that it will total around 120 km, passing through different parts of the city.
“When we get there, we’ll say a prayer and a thank you to God, and we’ll have some speeches. President Bolsonaro has not yet informed us if he will want to get on the truck, but he will be very welcome if he so decides”, declared Vilar.
