The motorcycle in support of President Jair Bolsonaro (no party) scheduled for this Saturday (12) in the city of São Paulo has caused an atmosphere of tension and expectation among bar and restaurant owners as it coincides with the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
According to the president of Abrasel (Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants) in São Paulo, Joaquim Saraiva, the forecast is that the lunchtime, which coincides with that of the Pocketnarist act, will be the most sought after by couples because of the operating restriction imposed by the São Paulo Plan — all establishments must be closed by 9 pm.
“This motorcycle during the day, being from 10 am to 2 pm, can influence our movement. Some people can get stuck in traffic or even afraid to leave the house. This can have a negative effect”, says Saraiva.
“Loving couples will not leave the house at 6 pm or 7 pm to have to leave at 9 pm. No one dines at this time,” he continues.
Abrasel’s president also claims that the organization was not contacted by event organizers to enter into an agreement on the date of the motorcycle. “After Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day for bars and restaurants is the one with the most movement”, he explains about its importance.
The so-called “motorcycle” with President Jair Bolsonaro should affect the traffic of streets and avenues in the city of São Paulo in the late morning and early afternoon of Saturday, in addition to one of the main highways in the state, which connects the capital to Campinas.
With departure scheduled for 10:00 am, the motorcycle starts in Santana, in the north of the city, and should follow the Tietê road, from the Governador Orestes Quércia bridge, and continue until kilometer 62 of the Bandeirantes highway.
On the way back, the route will pass along the Pinheiros waterfront, until reaching the Engenheiro Ari Torres bridge and, from there, it will follow Avenida dos Bandeirantes and Avenida Rubem Berta, ending at the Ibirapuera obelisk. The event is expected to arrive at the site around 2 pm.
