MPSP indicates progress in the Paulistão resumption protocol and sends letter to the Government of São Paulo

Paulistão is close to being resumed. This Thursday, the Public Ministry of São Paulo sent a letter to Governor João Doria informing about the manifestation of the coordinator of the Working Group Against Coping with Covid-19 of the MPSP on the protocol for resuming football activities in the A1 Series of the Campeonato Paulista , which was presented by the São Paulo Football Federation.

The statement was issued by Attorney General Mario Sarrubbo, who understands that this is “a positive step forward in the context that was revealed when the Decree of March 11 was issued”, which established the emergency phase across the state .

Also according to the prosecutor, the new FPF protocol was discussed in several meetings held in recent weeks with representatives of the Attorney General’s Office and the Covid-19 Crisis Committee.

Paulistão has been paralyzed since March 15, after the Emergency Phase of the plan against the advance of the covid-19 in the state of São Paulo was decreed. At first, the tournament would be suspended until March 30, but the deadline was extended until April 11.

The Federation of São Paulo even tried to tell the situation so that the championship could continue in this period. But, the maximum that the entity managed was to take two games to Rio de Janeiro (Corinthians x Mirassol and Palmeiras x São Bento).
