Alexey Navalny, who is serving time in the criminal case “Yves Rocher”, was transferred from the medical unit to the unit of the colony in connection with the improvement of his health. This was reported on Tuesday by the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Vladimir region in response to a TASS request.
“From April 5 to April 9, convict A. Navalny was in the medical and sanitary unit of IK-2 in the Vladimir region under the constant supervision of medical workers. On April 9, due to the improvement in his health, the convict was transferred back to the detachment,” the department said.
According to the ministry, studies have not confirmed that Navalny has tuberculosis and coronavirus infection. The medical council assessed his state of health as satisfactory.
The department also noted that the food for the convicts is organized in accordance with the requirements of the current legislation.
On April 5, Navalny, who is serving time in the Yves Rocher case in correctional colony No. 2 in the Vladimir region, was transferred to a medical unit with symptoms of acute respiratory infections, the symptoms of which were revealed in him during a planned medical examination. After that, the chairman of the Council for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) under the President of the Russian Federation, Valery Fadeev, said that the HRC would check information on the incidence of tuberculosis in the colony where Navalny is being held.
On February 2, the Simonovsky Court of Moscow, during a visiting session in the Moscow City Court, at the request of the Federal Penitentiary Service, replaced Navalny’s 3.5-year suspended sentence in the Yves Rocher case with a real term of imprisonment due to numerous violations. According to the lawyer, the blogger will have to spend a little more than two and a half years in the colony. He was transferred to IK-2 in Pokrov from the Kolchugino pre-trial detention center to serve his sentence.
