Even a small amount of raisins eaten daily can benefit the body. Nutritionist Anna Melekhina told RIA Novosti about this.
She noted that it is enough to add 25 grams of raisins to the diet every day. This is about 1/4 cup.
According to the nutritionist, raisins contain flavonoids that can have antioxidant effects, lower bad cholesterol levels, relax blood vessels and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. At the same time, the greatest amount of antioxidants is contained in red grapes.
Anna Melekhina added that with raisins, a person gets dietary fiber and vitamins, and this product also gives a sweet taste to products. However, you should not overuse raisins. Eating too much of it can lead to diarrhea, nausea, or vomiting. Also, black raisins are not recommended for use with some antibiotics: this product interferes with the absorption of the drug.
