This Thursday, six more clubs were defined that will play in the group stage of the 2021 South American Cup. They are: Aucas, from Ecuador, Metropolitanos, from Venezuela, River Plate, from Paraguay, La Equidad, from Colombia, Melgar, from Peru, and Palestino, from Chile.
To advance the stage, the Palestinian defeated Cobresal, also from Chile, by 2 to 1, at home. Carrasco and Benitez scored for the hosts, while Pol took it out. On the way, there was a 0-0 draw.
Melgar, on the other hand, beat Carlos Manucci, from Peru, 3 to 2, in his stadium. Arias, Iberico and Cuesta scored the goals of the home team, and Mifflin, against, and Fernandez did for the visitors. The first leg, by the way, was also won by the club of the city of Arequipa, by 2-1.
La Equidad, in turn, had goals from Garcia and Mena to beat Deportivo Posto-COL by 2-0, away from home, and advance. On the way, the team from Bogotá had lost 2-1.
Now, the qualified teams await the draw of Conmebol, which will be held this Friday, at 1 pm (Brasília time), to know who they will face in the group stage of the South American Championship.
