Warsaw’s position in relation to the Nord Stream 2 project has not changed, but its implementation, despite opposition, could not be stopped. This was stated on Friday by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Zbigniew Rau at a joint press conference with their French and German counterparts Jean-Yves Le Drian and Heiko Maasom (Weimar Triangle format).
“In reality, as far as Poland is concerned, we have not changed our opinion regarding the assessment of this investment. But despite the intense discussions on this issue, it was not possible to stop this project, the construction will be completed,” Rau said. He called on the EU to focus henceforth on avoiding potential security risks and divisions in Europe in connection with the launch of the project.
