Restrictive measures due to coronavirus increased in Buryatia – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Buryatia is tightening up restrictive measures. This is due to the incidence of coronavirus infections: the republic, according to local authorities, now ranks third in terms of growth rates after the Moscow and Leningrad regions.

“If we compare with the data as of May 31, then there were two times less patients on treatment. At the moment, 1211 beds are deployed. The occupancy of the bed fund is high, in the morning it was 91 percent,” said the Minister of Health of the region Yevgenia Ludupova.

In this regard, the headquarters decided to limit, in particular, the opening hours of cafes and restaurants until 23:00 (no more than four visitors are allowed at one table, excluding children).

All republican mass events in June were canceled or postponed. All-Russian sports competitions will be held without spectators. Enterprises are strongly encouraged to transfer as much of their employees as possible to telecommuting.

The Ulan-Ude administration has been instructed to strengthen the work of public transport so that people move in small groups. Secondary specialized educational institutions and universities are switching to a distance format. State authorities, various services and departments temporarily do not accept citizens.

According to the republican department of Rospotrebnadzor, as of June 7, there were -112 new cases of COVID-19 in the region (total since the beginning of the pandemic – 39,265). Moreover, 54 percent of cases are in Ulan-Ude. 15 people died from COVID-19 in a day (91 for the entire pandemic).
