Midfielder Rodriguinho was the highlight of rout of Bahia over Fortaleza. The player scored the first three goals of the team and had a direct participation in the move that resulted in the fourth goal and sealed the victory by 4-0 away from home.
After the match, Rodriguinho celebrated the Steel Squad’s triumph and stressed that it was the first time in his career that he had a hat-trick.
“First time in my career I scored three goals in a match. Very happy to have contributed to this triumph. We passed Fortaleza to escape the relegation zone,” he told Premiere.
“I even thought about hitting the penalty, the teammates said to hit. But I told Rossi to hit and score his too,” he said in reference to the last goal scored by the Bahians.
With the triumph, Bahia reached 41 points and opened four away for the Z-4 of the Brazilian Championship. In the next round, the last of the competition, the team faces Santos on Thursday, at the Fonte Nova Arena, to confirm their stay in Serie A.
