The most active purchases on the marketplace were made by residents of Moscow and the Moscow region, as well as St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Samara regions, Krasnodar Territory and Tatarstan.
“From January 1 to January 9, 2022, Internet users in Russia made almost 22 million payments,” said Ivan Glazachev, CEO of YuMoney, a fintech company. “The total number of purchases and turnover of online platforms increased by more than 40 percent compared to the first decade 2021. The number of medical services paid online in early January increased by 4.4 times compared to the level of 2021, the turnover of clinics almost sixfold. The average check reached 4100 rubles. This is a third more than a year earlier.
The turnover in the category of gaming goods increased three times, the average check amounted to 543 rubles (15 percent less than last January). The number of ticket purchases for entertainment events has doubled. Sales in the field of household and beauty services grew by 1.8 times.
The activity of consumers on the long weekend is also confirmed by the statistics of the SberMegaMarket trading platform. The number of orders in relation “year to year” has increased by 9.5 times, the turnover – sevenfold. The leaders in demand were food, household appliances, personal care products, children’s clothing and toys, as well as household and pet products.
