Sanctions imposed by the United States removed from three former Iranian officials

The United States has lifted previously imposed sanctions on three former Iranian government officials, as well as two companies that Washington says were involved in the Iranian oil trade. This is stated in a statement released on Thursday by the press service of the US Treasury.

According to this data, Washington is “lifting sanctions against three former representatives of the Iranian government and two companies that were previously involved in buying, acquiring, selling, transporting or placing on the market of Iranian petrochemical products.” As the department explained, the sanctions were lifted “as a result of the confirmation of a change in the behavior or status of the persons and organizations under the sanctions.”

The move, according to the US Treasury Department, “demonstrates the commitment of the US government to lift sanctions in the event of a change in behavior or status.”
