São Paulo hopes to vaccinate 1 million against Covid this week; see stations in the capital – 06/06/2021 – São Paulo

With the start this Monday (7) of the vaccination of people with comorbidities or with permanent disabilities, from 18 years old, and pregnant and postpartum women, also from the same age, in addition to education professionals, the State Department of Health plans to vaccinate about 1 million people against Covid-19 this week in the state of São Paulo.

In São Paulo, the Municipal Health Department will open about 500 places for vaccination this Monday, including drive-thru points, where you don’t need to get out of your car to be vaccinated, and mega stations for pedestrians (see list below) . In the municipality, the presentation of proof of residence is mandatory.

About 550 thousand people with permanent disabilities, who receive the BPC (Continued Cash Benefit), and those with comorbidities must be vaccinated. As a result, the João Doria administration (PSDB) ends the immunization of these two groups against the new coronavirus in the state, since all age groups from 18 years old have already had an open schedule — the PNI (National Vaccination Plan) does not yet provide for the country vaccine against Covid for minors.

To get the vaccine, the person needs to prove the comorbidity through a prescription for medication, report, exams or medical prescription. The records previously existing in UBSs can also be used. The City of São Paulo, under Ricardo Nunes, started to retain the documents to prove cases of fraud.

KNOW HOW TO PROVE HOW TO GET THE VACCINE

People with permanent disabilities must present proof of receipt of the BPC. In the case of the capital of São Paulo and in several cities in the state, all people who will take the vaccine against the new coronavirus must present proof of address.

This Monday also begins in the city of São Paulo, in São Bernardo do Campo (ABC) and in Campinas, the vaccination of pregnant women and mothers who gave birth in the last 45 days. According to the state government, Pfizer vaccine doses will be applied in the three municipalities.

In other cities in São Paulo, women in this group begin to be vaccinated on Thursday, also with immunization from Coronavac. The use of the Fiocruz/Astrazeneca vaccine for pregnant and postpartum women has been suspended since May under the guidance of the Ministry of Health and Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency).

According to Regiane de Paula, general coordinator of the State Immunization Plan, the goal is to vaccinate around 400,000 pregnant and postpartum women in the state. In the city of São Paulo, the expectation is to immunize around 100,000 women from these groups.

To get vaccinated, pregnant women in any gestational period must present a medical report or certificate at the health facilities stating that the professional indicates that they should take the coronavirus vaccine. “For this situation, it is necessary that the pregnant woman has a medical indication, that the doctor certifies that she has to take this vaccine,” said Mayor Ricardo Nunes last week.

Also this week, starting next Wednesday (9), basic education professionals, aged between 45 and 46, will begin to be vaccinated. 80,000 people are expected.

Until this Sunday, about 18.1 million vaccines against Covid-19 had been applied in the state, with 12.2 million for the first dose and 5.9 million with the second.
