The High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) has had a busy year.
At full capacity. In 2020, election year for the Senate and municipalities, and ministerial reshuffle, the High Authority for the Transparency of Public Life (HATVP) has not been idle. No less than 17,000 declarations of interest and assets were sent to it. A level that it had not reached since 2014. It even had to prioritize its controls and often relaunch the requests for declarations well beyond the allotted deadlines.
Indeed, if the 178 senators, old accustomed to the procedure, all made their deposit on time, on time and exhaustively, it was not the same for the elected municipal officials: nearly half did not delivered their declarations on time… and thus obliged the HATVP to issue 1,538 amicable reminders and 349 injunctions.
