The leader of the Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth party, Sergei Mironov, turned to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiulina, with a request to analyze the validity of accepting the recent expansion of the CMTPL tariff corridor and consider adjusting it. This is stated in a letter from the parliamentarian sent to the Bank of Russia (a copy of the letter is available in the editorial office of Izvestia.).
In it, Mironov noted that there was no need to increase tariffs for “avtograzhdanka”.
“According to the law, insurers must pay 77% of the collected funds. At the same time, this indicator often does not exceed 60%, which indicates the excess income received by the organization of the insurance industry, and is a factor indicating the lack of economic justification for increasing insurance rates, ”the parliamentarian said in a statement.
Mironov also asked the head of the Central Bank to analyze the level of profitability of OSAGO market participants and, based on its results, make decisions on adjusting the tariff corridor for “autocitizen”. In addition, the deputy considers it appropriate to establish additional sanctions in the form of turnover fines against insurance companies that refuse to sell the OSAGO policy.
“OSAGO is a social product that guarantees the property rights of all road users, the obligation to purchase which is enshrined in law,” Sergey Mironov specified.
On September 13, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation announced that it had expanded the basic tariff corridor for compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners (OSAGO). The tariff corridor was expanded by 26% in both directions so that insurers could take into account the individual risks of drivers in the context of an increase in the price of spare parts.
